Our Team
Derek Hartzell
Founder & Partner / Project Manager / Master Carpenter
With 30+ years of remodeling & maintenance experience, Derek specializes in customized projects and works with purposed efficiency to provide an excellent quality of craftsmanship.
He has the ability to think outside the ordinary to find a way when others can’t, and he enjoys
bringing our customers’ visions of their projects into reality.
Derek enjoys teaching the next generation some of the skills he has mastered over the years.

Georgia Hartzell
Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Georgia has been with HHGS from its inception in 2003. Her role has evolved throughout the years as the business has grown and needs have changed. Early on, while also running her cosmetic sales business, she assisted Derek with bookkeeping, sales appointments, and in the field on landscaping projects. She is now primarily the Office Manager & Bookkeeper.
Her passions include playing with her grandboys, traveling, and planning trips.
Other hobbies she enjoys are hiking and reading.

Darren Hartzell
Partner / Lead Carpenter / Business Marketing
Began working with his dad on landscaping jobs from a very early age. By the time Darren was a teenager he was running his own jobs in the neighborhood. He worked with his dad any time he wasn’t in school or playing baseball. Since graduation in 2012, he has worked full time with the family business. He loves keeping up with the latest trends in building & technology products and integrating them into our projects at our clients' requests. Darren is a board member for The Builder's Association of Adams County.

Partner / Carpentry Assistant / Landscaper - Turf Management Specialist
Began working with his dad as a young boy during summer breaks, and joined him full time after graduation in June of 2014 to take charge of the landscaping division of the business. Hayden has obtained certification of Commercial Pesticide Application specializing in lawn & turf management. He also completed Electricity 1 course through Franklin County Career Tech.
